Summer Research Institute
Mona Cardejon spear heads the Summer Research Internships (SRI), which involves four SRI students and three interns for the Center for Native and Pacific Health Disparities working with the Department of Native Hawaiian Health (DNHH). They each work with a mentor on a project that involves the Hawaiian community and present their findings at the conclusion of the program at the end of July.
Past Research studies have included:
- Evaluation of Partners in Care diabetes self-management
- Cultural Competency at JABSOM
- Epigenetics and cardiovascular disease in Native Hawaiians
- Garden-based food science and human nutrition study in college students
